One dive store manager in particular told me that i could use it, but he wouldnt let anyone else, period. go figure as to why. my guess; a hold over from more than 10 years ago, when several people saw the long hose and decided to use them for lobster hunting. They would take off their tanks and used the long hose like a hooka to explore small cracks. a little surge, and they were separated from their air; not too brite, but it happened fairly frequently (for a while) back then. This fellows solution; you can dive what you want, just not a long hose. He has reiterated this position to me within the last year. And he is a self described "tek " diver; a nice guy and otherwise good diver, but he learned from an instructor who has left at least one buddy/body on the doria; in my opinion not the best example of instructor. And he hasnt dove his mess enough yet to figure just how problematic his (fairly recently learned) techniques are. mark -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
