Some suggestions:

-Use an aluminium stage instead. Steel are heavy in the water. Ideally a
stage should be neutral in the water when half full of gas. A bit positive
empty and a bit negative when full,

-Do not use ankle weights, it's the worst invention in diving. They make
your feet heavy causing you to swim with your fins low. This makes your
swimming harder and you will kick up silt (sediment from the bottom).

-To determine how much lead you need do a test dive with 50 bar in stages
and back tanks. Add weight until you can stay at 6m comfortably. Ideally you
should be able to stay at 6m with just about empty tanks with no air in the
wing and a little in the suit. Most beginning dry suit divers use way to
much lead. Use as little as possible but you have to be sure that you can
stay at 6m even if you are low on gas. Dont do any advanced dives until you
are comfortable with your suit.

-The best way of placing the lead is with a v weight as you already do.

-If you are cold buy a 200 undersuit or use a thin sport undersuit that is
good at transporting sweat away, You can find them in any sport shop, Kraft
is a good brand. Army surplus stores also usually have some good stuff.
Avoid cotton material. Remember that you will need a bit more lead if you
add more cloths.

-Drop weights is not needed.

- Buy a canister light such as the Extreme Exposure ones. Very good lights
and they weigh a few kilos under water so you can remove some lead.

Best,
Ingemar Lundgren

I need a bit of help on the weight system since i have upgrade from 5mm
wet suit + 5mm vest to
a DUI TLS350. Up to know i was using a home made Vweight ( 5kg ).
My rig consist of twin steel manifold 15Ltr 232 bar ( 16 kilos each ) ,
7Ltr steel Oxygen stage Tank
and Metal Hard Plate. ( Can you believe that i still need weight !! and
im supposed to be fit ).

Diving Dry i found out that i needed 3 kg more. ( 5kg to be precise but
i used ( 1kg on each ankle weight )).
So what should i do ?

1) Melt another couple of Car batteries and make a new 8 Kg V weight (
if anyone interesting how
to create his own v weights is so easy drop me a line )

2) Add Drop weights on my harness so i can drop at least half of my lead
at emergency ?
( im not quite sure if i will ever need to do this )

3) Try to spread the weight by adding another Kg on each ankle weight
and another Kg on the Vweight

And something else, at 16c iam a bit cold with a thinsulate tshirt and
100g Thinsulate undergarments so
should i add another kg on my lead so i can pump a bit more air in my
suit or just wear more ?
