I would think, from a systems engineering viewpoint, that if the intermediate
pressure is the same, it would not matter.  If the output of both first
stages is set at 170 psi (also not to exceed 170 psi), for example, this
input into the second stage would be the same regardless.  When I say this,
I am thinking of the first and second stages as two separate black boxes,
their only communication with each other being the intermediate pressure.

I would like to know what you think of this.
