Tom, I think whoever told you that the hot dip galvanizing process would limit the service life of a steel is either misinformed, pulling your leg or smoking something he ain't sharing! Hot dipped galvanized steel 72's have been around longer than I have been diving (1962) and are still in use today. I have several that date to the early 60's and have recently passed hydro. For all practical purposes they will last longer than the diver! OMS claims 10,000 cycles to hydro pressure (4000 psi) which means they would last 27.4 years at a rate of 1 dive a day, every day (you can take the extra day in leap year off). Of course this may be a clever marketing ploy to imply that regardless of what they say officially, it's ok to overfill their tanks. Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: Thomas A.
