Hi, I've been reading this list for a few days now, and I just though I'd drop a small note to say hello, etc. I've been diving for about 10 months now, so I'm a releative newbie with only 56 dives under my weightbelt. (Almost half of them have been in fresh water) I'm a BS-AC sports diver, I'll be doing my dive-leader stuff in a few months, with luck. I really enjoy the diving I've been doing, I find it very relaxing and peacefull. (Back to the womb, or what (-: ) Due to problems getting members of my club to go out with our boats, (we have an inflatable ad a RIB) I've not had too much boat diving to date, however, I can now tow and drive them so that should change this year. I want to do more wreck diving, as I enjoy "ferreting" about in nooks & crannies. The only wreck penetration I can claim to is a single decker bus and a helicopter at 22m in the fresh-water quarry I have been diving in! Mixed gasses & other technical things (computers, etc) interest me greatly. My local dive shop has recently started to supply Nitrox to qualified divers, but I think I'll get anotehr 50 or so dived out of the way on air before I see whats what with it. (The initial course is about 150 pounds, I think). One think of note is that the BS-AC have recently decided to not recomend any of their members to use any sort of mixed gas diving, so they will not be setting up any training or whatnot for Nitrox, etc. If anyones interested in their arguments, I'll post a summary of their 3-4 page article in the lastest _Diver_ magazine. A big OK to Simon (sch@oa*.ic*.co*.uk*) and all other UK divers out there... -- Gordon Henderson is gordon@me*.co* Meiko Scientific Ltd. 650 Aztec West, Bristol England UK
