I have a hard time seeing this being a real problem.  Your biggest problem
at that point would seem to be figuring out where to do your deco stops.  Of
course, your buddy still has a perfectly good working bottom timer so they
should be able to figure things out in terms of both what deco to do and
where to do it, no?
