Harmen,

Sometines I dive without my light as well.

I chose to put a weight pocket in the same place as the light cannister
(using the weight buckle to hold it in place i.e. ditchable).

I also have a pocket on the left side of my system for use when diving
with a single and a light cannister (offsets the negative bouyancy of the light)
when diving without a suit (warm water diving). It is held in place using a
weight belt retainer and can be removed in about 10 minutes (the hardest part
is the
rethreading of the belt through the buckle). This allows me to use the same
basic system
and optimize for:

Cold water rec diving (doubles, drysuit, no stages or lights) => weight pocket
for trim
Cold water tech diving (doubles, drysuit, stages, and light) => no weight
required, no pockets
Warm water rec diving (single, no suit, light (night dive with camera) or no
light) weight pocket with
cannister

One of the alternatives is a V-weight, but the V-weight does not offer
that same mechanism for holding the long hose in place or work for single tank
diving.

Steve
