The old cyclone's (hockey puck) 2nd's don't have this problem. You can open then up without tools, but I wouldn't use them for other reason's such as the purge valve. I dove my buddies old cyclone which he wouldn't stop raving about, but I didn't like it. It seemed to finicky.
