Simon - Thomas is right that memorizing your tables is the first and best solution, but I also write mine (along with bailouts) in a Wetnotes waterproof notebook that I keep in my left thigh pocket and with a waterproof marker on a strip of white duct tape that I stick down the side of my top deco bottle (o2 or 50/50 depending on the dive). The wetnotes give me a means of communicating with other divers underwater and a place to jot down notes I eventually transfer into my logbook (I still keep one) -- along with a record of deco tables for wrecks I dive frequently. The duct tape strip is a quick cheat sheet for my planned deco and one or two likely mods/bailouts that I slap on the deco bottle on the boat ride out. Simple with no entanglement risk.
