These sorts of campaigns normally begin when the pain starts. I just didn't expect it to be so inept. I'll take it you're an aggrieved stroke manufacturer without enough imagination to arrest a sliding market share; a dive store salesman specialising in shonky shit who notices the flim-flam doesn't work so good anymore 'cause the punters are getting smarter; or one of thouse thousands of rotten little personal preference instroketors who's losing business because the students are waking up and smelling major bullshit - and it's all you've got to sell. Whichever, the list might like to consider your devious outburst in the light of the following observations. Hogarthian and the DIR style of gear rigging were around long before some of the WKPP guys started to produce the gear. The WKPP divers first tried to get what they needed - DIR spec. gear - from existing manufacturers. When they couldn't, they started to manufacture DIR spec. equipment to fulfill the needs of the rest of the team. If the other manufacturers had then siezed the opportunity and started producing DIR spec. gear, there would be little room in the market for new entrants. AS it was, the existing mainstream bullshit-gear manufacturers couldn't or wouldn't come out of their fucking fantasylands to take advantage of the marketing opportunity DIR presented. They were too busy coming up with mindless iterations - changing the colours on the bcs. Putting fancy rims on the masks and ever more complex purge valves on the snorkels. Giving us gems like the power inflate-deflate valve, the integrated octopus and seeing how many D rings they could sew onto a 'tech' bc without making the weightbelt redundant. In a phrase, while the need for correct equipment was growing, the manufacturers were off somewhere fucking spiders. So some of the WKPP divers filled the place in the market by making DIR spec. gear for a wider market. Ditto training. How many years did the technical agencies take a hammering from WKPP members about their patently, monstrously, dangerous standards? Three? four? five? The WKPP gave them a huge head-start to clean up their act. They told them what needed to change. They told them how to do it. And the agencies wouldn't pick up the ball. Year after year. So finally JJ started GUE. Listen shitbucket, if I were in the dive or the training business, I'd have done it three years ago! All the information to do it, all the knowledge - everything - was OUT THERE IN THE OPEN on the internet. And do you know who put it there, you lying little shite? The WKPP put it there. Probably two or three hundred Florida divers have passed through the WKPP ranks. Unsurprisingly, many of them are from the dive industry. Unsurprisingly, most of them recognised the need for better gear and training. And unsurprisingly, some of them had the connections and the capabilities to produce the gear and the training that is otherwise missing from the market. I am very pleased that they are meeting some success. At the other end of the spectrum, you are wetting yourself. I don't like arseholes like you who trade in bullshit, lies, uncertainty, misinformation and doubt. Especially about technical diving. The subject of technical diving is too life-critical to tolerate any bullshit of any kind from any quarter. You are absolutely typical of the mealy mouthed, incompetent, amateurish, bullshit strokery that sets the dive industry beneath almost every other business category in regards to intelligence, professionalism and trustworthiness. What we've seen in the last few years is a whole huge strategic business platform and opportunity completely missed (as usual) by the 'leading lights' of the dive manufacturing industry - unsurprisingly the same ox-dumb arseholes who killed the wing for two decades and tried to outlaw nitrox in the very recent past. And now, having missed the DIR boat, all they can do is enlist agrieved and mindless little shitlickers and bullshit artists like you to pop up & lie. You whining little leach, you represent everything that is bad about the old order. let me be the first to tell you your days are numbered. Thank goodness that REAL professionals. REAL thinking people. REAL divers are getting into the business. Fuck you. Fuck your lies. Fuck your jealousy. Fuck your dynosaur business attitudes. The WKPP gave you and your ilk every conceivable opportunity. They handed it to you on a plate and you and your 'industry' didn't have the right stuff - neither the intelligence, the decisiveness, the timing, the work ethic or the guts to sieze the moment. You lost and you can't even do that with dignity or grace. It's no good whining about it. Now you are getting gang-banged. Reamed by a bunch of people far cleverer than you; who weren't slothful and indolent when it counted.
