When you guys get a character like this , I would suggest just working
the general question, and then ignoring any of the silliness that we all
have come to expect either from the uninformed or the intitutionally
misinformed, as in the products of the training agencies.

The level of ignornace in basic dive gear out ther among the seasoned
"industry" people is stunning to me, and we need to resist the
temptation to get personal with the victims of this and focus on the
nitty gritty.

The Halcyon wing question is an obvious , which I think Tucker answered
- you could play nose tackle in those wings and not break them. The size
qustion is bullshit - you need the "55#" ( which is really about 40
pounds of lift) for doubles, and there is a tiny one for singles. You
need two differnet wings, but the same harness works.

I did not see the other silliness, but it is dificult to talk turkey
with a buzzard - this guy does not have the abc's down, there is no
point getting into too much mishmash with him. The computer isssue is
simple - they don't work, they are ridiculously expensive, and what you
really need is some deco software with which to tutor yourself into an
unerstanding of decompressions.

As with everything else in this game, the money is best spent wisely and
at the end of the day you have better gear and more of it.

This "Akula" guy is nothing but the victim of a pathetic dive
instruction situation. If you want to hammer somebody , hammer ths
strokes who teach this baloney.
