Don, I can spot bullshit a mile away . I knew it. To answer your question, my instructor was Parker Turner. At that point he was no longer my instructor, obviously ( after 77 cave dives) although he had only given me my card a few days earlier, and the accident had nothing to do with instruction - the cave collapsed. It collapsed behind me, Bill Main, and Lamar English, and in front of him and Bill Gavin. Gavin got out of it due to his extreme ability. I would not have at the time. I took a relatively new cave diver in there the other day, and thought about that when we went throgh that spot. I am still relieved every time I get there and the entrance is not blocked. I still will not dive where McFadden got killed, nor will I go through the restriction where Sherwood got killed anymore, although I did that with JJ in Feburary, and JJ got stuck in the exact spot , and that finsishd us off from ever going through it again- we went out a diffrent way, and I asked my guys to cut the line out of that place so nobody else can go through . Cave diving is not the big prize badge everyone seems to think it is. I know how bad it gets, and I get real hot when some stroke pussy yaps at me like a lapdog and wants to tell me how it needs to be taught. It needs to not be taught to strokes with attitudes.
