I would like to make a formal introduction, too.  I have posted
viewpoints already, and enjoy the "lively" discussions.  I am
Michael J. Black, M.D.  I practice Ophthalmology in Janesville,
Wisconsin.  Between patients I often look at Techdiver or Rec.
Scuba, as I have been diving since 1976 and it is one of my
favorite hobbies.  I won't bore you with my "accomplishments"
but will mention that diving medicine has been a sideline of mine
for years, although I prefer to keep my interest casual only,
and not professional.  My tec diving comprises about a third of
my dives, including Great Lakes shipwrecks, Nitrox, and some ice.
Rec diving comprises the other two-thirds, and I've been all over.
Favorite destination ever:  Palau.  I own a small 24-foot boat
for the Great Lakes, and an even smaller 20-foot open bow boat
for the inland stuff.  Well this may be a short introduction,
but I hope to continue following this list and occasionally add
to the discussion in a positive way.  See you on the list folks.
