I did not pick the gas, and it actually makes no difference despite what the theory says, but I woudl use the 1.2 ppo2 and as shallow a nitrogen depth as possible, less than 100 feet equivalent. With the aluminum 30 anmd 40 tanks I fill oxygen to whatever the banks have, usually 2000, and the other gases to 3000. Keep in mind that when you do your dives with an 80 deco bottle, you really never use much of it at all. A 40 is plenty . We generally use our 80 deco bottles twice in cave diving, and in the ocean the benfit of the much more manageable 40's and 30's is an overhwelming advantage. You know what I can not understand on this list is in evidence here. I got my 40 Sherwood aluminum tanks from dive shops on Long Island in the 80's, yet none of those guys up there seem to know they exist even now, yet they all are big time "pony bottle" users. Those ponies were all 30s and 40s, and the wreck divers were the ones that I got the idea from originally. All of those guys must have quit diving and taken these secrets with them.
