Sometimes yes it is warm at depth, and sometimes is it a horror, paradoxicly it is coldest at depth in the late summer. The fact is I live in the Carribean, and that is why I do not go out to a deep dive unprepared and have to abort due to the cold layer being higher on the day I dive. I know better now. What we are talking about here is practices that make sense, not isolated incidents where we were able to drive home drunk by shuttting one eye, Esat. You know me well, you have seen me, you have seen me in the water. If anyone could get away with anything and live through it, it would be me, yet you do not see me trying, do you? That is becuase I already did and saw how ridiculous some of these things are , especially relative to doing it properly, and both Jarrod and I spend a great deal of time now going over the fine deatails of these practices and being sure that we not only do them ourselves, but that we properly articulate them for others to use. When somebody shows up that can outgun us as a team in the water, I will get out my kneepads. When anyhone can come up wiht an arguemtn on any of this that makes any more sense that what I am saying, then I will bring those kneepads to 34 St and meet you at Macy's window. If you dive wet, the suit is paper at depth and gives no thermal or lift. In that case you need to be in warm water and have tanks that have buoyancy characteristics such that when you drop your external weight, you can get up with ease. If you are wearing a shell drysauit with insulation, they offset the heavier steel tanks, and you can still get up. This is not rocket science, it is common sense. There is no good argument to the contrary.
