Is anyone using AGM/VRLA batteries in scooters or lights? Absorbent Glass Matt/Valve Regulated Lead-Acid batteries are said to have longer run times, better reliability and less outgassing than standard lead-acid batteries. They are also supposed to be capable rapid energy output on demand and safer to charge and store. Several manufacturers make AGM/VRLA batteries and many recommend them for sealed marine use, motorcycle use and they were used in US Military Hummers and F-16 fighters. What I don't know is if there are any drawbacks; if the claims of longer run-time and less hydrogen discharge are true.
