Subject: Re: FW: Hose Length - was: DIR bits & pieces
Paul, the answer to this depends both on the first stages you are
using, how they are oriented, and the tank orifice offset from the
centerline (LP steels which are 8 inches need a slightly longer hose
than 80's which are 7.25 inch diameter). Basically, you want it to be
long enough to enable you to turn your head throough your normal range
of motion to the left. If it's pulling at your mouth, go longer. The
extra inch or so really isn't so much of a safety concern. Using LP
steels and a ScubaPro MK 20, positioned with the end port inward and
angled down about 40 degrees, I use a 24 inch hose on the end port, and
probably could use 25. Don't add swivels or elbows.
