Fantastic. I'm pleased (truly) that this means a lot to you and all the
other marines, and to many others as well.

Today in the UK we participated in 2 minutes of silence to commemorate
those fallen in conflict defending the our national interests.

Over the last few days many parts of London have been celebrating Diwali
(sp?), which has special significance for Indians (and everyone who want to
join in the fun), being a kind of New Year/Christmas rolled into one. So
Happy Diwali to you all.

I bet I could find many reasons to celebrate every day of the year, some of
immense significance to many groups of people. Indeed, I suggest I could
dig up quite a few that while being celebrated by many, would actually be
deeply offensive to some of the global groups on this list.

I personally think, though, that this diving forum is no place for any such
general announcements, however much they mean to the individuals concerned.

Regards

Dave
