If the diver can make by himself strong enough stitching / etc to safely hold the harness together. But not all people are that able to make that sort of thing themselves. Is there anywhere commercially available a man-lifting harness that (1) can be routinely worn under scuba gear, and (2) can be fastened easily in emergency to any sort of lifting gear that a rescue helicopter / etc may be equipped with?
