Speaking of DAN and IWR: there is an article on IWR called "The Quagmire" in
the latest issue of DAN's Alert Diver Magazine. The author is Richard
Dunford, M.S.

The article goes into great detail on the studies that would be require to
acurately charactorize the risks/benefits of IWR. It also discusses the
implications of making a "statement or recommendation" to the public. The
article concludes that(I Quote here) :

"The Divers Alert Network is in the developing stages of a study that will
attempt to collect data from one million profiles (as recorded by
decompression computer) and a post dive interview."

there is some iterveaning text and then this:

"But if the results of our proposed Doppler study agreed with the one million
divers surveyed, the two together provide stronger support for any
recommendation made."

So Rich & Roger, maybe it will not be so difficult to enlist DAN's support.

On the lighter side of things:

Q: How many Pentium designers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: 1.99904274017, but that's close enough for non-technical people.

Q: Why didn't Intel call the Pentium the 586?
A: Because they added 486 and 100 on the first Pentium and got
     585.999983605.

Q: According to Intel, the Pentium conforms to the IEEE standards 754 and
854 for floating point arithmetic. If you fly in aircraft designed
using a Pentium, what is the correct pronunciation of "IEEE"?

A: Aaaaaaaiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeee!

Q: What's another name for the "Intel Inside" sticker they put on
    Pentiums?

A: Warning label.
