I finally did some digging in my boxes of old gear and found a Bend-O-Matic bourdon tube meter that I was given a few years ago. I also have the manual for it. The meter that I have was sold by SCUBAPRO and the manual has a copy right date of 1973. The manual lists the technical data as coming from Carlo Alinari with a patent No. of 3,121-333. The hart of the meter is a gas filled bag that is connected to a chamber with the bourdon tube by a permeable block referred as "element X". As the bag is compressed the gas moves through the "element X" and compresses the bourdon tube which in turn moves the DECO needle across the meter face. I took the meter with me once on a dive to 130' and it agreed within 2 minutes with my computer. On the second dive it was short by a good 6 minutes. If you want, contact me by e-mail and I'll send a copy of the manual to you. Pete Johnson -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
