I'm italian diver and my english is no good.
I hope you understand me
SOS company is expired only some years ago.
Your object was produced on license SOS by

Allemano F. & Figli s.r.l.
Via Digione 15, Torino
phone 011/751650 or 751659 or 740486
fax 011/7714003

SOS had produced an object called in italian "decompressimetero" in two
versions.

The first version had more succes and many italian scuba dived with it.
It was the only way for scuba to not use tables.
My father had one, he gift it only one year ago to one friend who had broken
his previous decompressimetro.
The friend actually dive with it without problem to 60/70 m (meter not
feet!) and sometime 80/90m.
Some other old scuba continue to use it.
By your description you have the second version, i've seen it only in photo.
I think (i'm not sure) that was produces from early 70'.
Your version was produced almost to 1988 (computer aladin was already
born!).
The principle of work in the first version was a membrane of note
permeability that simulate the
behavior of only one human tissue.
Maybe your version have more membranes and so simulate more tissue.

Tell me if you didn't understand or you want more information.

Marco
