Kind of what I surmised from reading his book. I real pioneer but unfortunately got tied up with the wrong people (urging him on). That coupled with a searing desire to go deeper and deeper and break every record in site spelled his doom. Real shame. With the knowledge and technology available today Imagine what he could have accomplished. I think he would have been giving you a run for the >18K record.... I think he would have really enjoyed the deep recessed of Wakalla and Leon!
