For those who like experiments:

Try to burn a Viton o-ring (with a lighter) for 5 to 10 seconds and then try 
it with a neoprene o-ring (standard o-ring in most regulators).

It will be interresting to see the results.

PS:  If you have a smoke detector, may be you want to remove the battery 
prior to the experiment.
