With the hood (O'Neill with face seals) and mask (a Beuchat Strato) I use, doing this lets lots of water under the hood. In warmer water, above say 55F/13C, its not so much a problem. Below that I can't get away with it at all. In some of the Florida caves, this is a great idea. For the wreck diving I've been doing off NJ (cold, no DPV, seldom any ripping currents) it hasn't been indicated. -- Art Greenberg artg@ec*.ne* -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
