Hi Thomas, Just a quick reply. Another big day at the coal face (or computer screen) and the flu doesn't help :-) At 07:56 9/08/1999 -0700, you wrote: >Reason number two does not seem to be relevant to me, but I could be wrong >here. What would be useful about this information you provide? You develop >problems in the bottomfase of your dive?! I was thinking along the lines of covering my ass if someone got bent or injured on a dive I was leading and decided to sue. Show we followed the "rules", deepest part of the dive first, appropriate safety stop, no rapid ascents, etc (of course if you didn't follow the rules the computer would show that too). How actually useful this would be in reality I hope I never need to find out. Someone else may have experience? >Treatment in the chamber will be according symptoms developed, not >according your ascent rate or other specifics you can provide with your >computer or am I wrong here? Not sure. When I had a suspected hit of DCS earlier this year (turned out unlikely) depth and time of dives in a series and any unusual events during the dive were issues and I figure a detailed profile couldn't hurt. Perhaps more in diagnosis rather than treatment? The crux of the matter, which I didn't entirely make clear yesterday, is that with the kind of diving I do using a computer rather than a bottom timer doesn't impinge on dive planning anyway. There are plenty of other more critical bits of gear to spend money on (as with other bits of gear, if I saw a compelling reason to change I would).
