John: I would not be so quick to demonize other diving luminaries that have gone before us. Deep diving in and of itself is a "stupid stunt" and I think we can all objectively agree with that, though we assume as many layers of safety in which to minimize those risks as we can. Nevertheless, it is completely plausible, given the game of numbers we are involved in, that George too may meet an untimely death depending on how far he pushes the limits of exploration. Should that happen, and none of us hope it does, the last thing anyone should do is call him "stupid" because in hindsight he made an error that none of us would ever make (yeah right) or got lazy in something that none of us would get lazy in (wrong again) or became cavalier over a procedure that none of us would get cavalier over. The truth of the matter is that each of us is human, that despite our best of intentions we all make very stupid mistakes throughout our lives, and it is only a matter of time before the WKPP does the same. So, let us stop badmouting everyone who has died attempting what most of us would never have the balls (some say common sense) to attempt ourselves, and let everyone keep the WKPP firmly planted on the earth among mere mortals, and stop putting them on a pedestal that neither they will be able to support forever, nor will the game of averages allow indefinitely.
