You still don't get it Sean. I don't have a personal problem at all
with what George writes. I am able to gather a lot of useful
information from him and the rest of the DIR crowd. I appreciate the
time they have taken to put out the message. Having said that, the
personal ego is a powerful thing. It is my contention that for some
listeners, it will be difficult if not impossible for them to overcome
the "hurt" to their ego due to George's style. You might say "tough
luck" if they can't overcome their ego and I don't disagree. But, if
the DIR crowd is going to get their panties in a twist every time
somebody who didn't listen to them gets hurt, then they need to
reevaluate their methods. (As a side note, I use the Halcyon "T" back
panties as they are much less likely to twist than the OMS "Double cheek
bondage" panties.)

Remember that the DIR crowd is trying to "sell" the idea of DIR style of
diving to everyone else. Calling someone who drinks Mountain Dew (for
instance) Farm Animal Stupid for not drinking Coke is not going to make
him want to buy Coke. Calmly explaining why Coke is better (even though
you've done it a million times before with others) is more likely to
work.

This isn't about me or you, it's about methods. Consider flag burning.
How many people do you think your typical flag burning protester
converts to see their viewpoint? Probably not too many since they
offend a large number of their hopeful converts with their methods. An
extreme example for sure, but I hope you get the idea.

[Much rambling that had absolutely nothing to do with the point I was
trying to make snipped.]

Sincerely,
