One man reach everybody? It'll never happen, and it's an absurd
burden to lay on the shoulders of anyone.

In my more idealistic moments, I would *love* to believe that
"everybody" is capable of being reached by pure reason. It's
just not true, though. Some respond to reason, some respond
to attention-getting measures followed by reason, and some
don't respond at all. An abrasive style may well be necessary
to reach that second group. Meanwhile, many people including
George continue to supply reason reaching both the first and
second groups. Anyone foolish enough to let their annoyance
with one man deter them from listening to any of the myriad of
messengers was in the third group to begin with, a lost cause.

Look at the results! More people are talking about DIR then
ever, more are adopting it. It's certainly not "because of"
George (people choose DIR because it just makes sense) but
like it or not he plays a role in garnering attention for a
very positive change in behavior, and he follows it up with
the reason that rightly sustains that attention.

So, don't be such a wuss. ;-) Focus on the delivery mode that
reaches you best. Either way: the message is the same. Either
way: what works, works. DIR.

p.s. It's pretty sad that naughty words and abrasiveness get
people more agitated than a pile of corpses. It really
seems like that would be enough...
