I know what George stands for and I don't defend those that he slams.

Sean,

You're lack of reading comprehension is astounding. I don't find
George's posts offensive personally, but I do realize that some people
do. I was trying to point out the fact that sometimes the message can
get lost in the style of delivery for some people. I am smart enough to
overlook the style and see if there is any substance. Not everybody can
or will.

Or maybe you're just a Farm Animal Stupid Dive Shop Monkey (FASDSM) and
too stupid to realize what I was writing.

Please scroll down some...

Sean,

I didn't mean the FASDSM comment, I wrote it to make a point. Now let
me ask you a question. Do you think that had I left it at that, I would
have made any progress in making my point???

Think of it this way. I've run across hundreds of ignorant drivers on
the road. Just because it's happened hundreds of times, doesn't mean
that I can't make the 16 year old kid who wasn't taught properly see the
way we're supposed to share the road. If I call him a stupid F*** head
though, my chances are probably a lot less.

I'll grant you that the top levels of IANDT and TDI are probably a lost
cause, but the people at my level who might be thinking of tech diving
are still open game. If they subscribe to techdiver, log in and see the
screaming that sometimes goes on you _might_ lose them before they get a
chance to see the message. Some divers like myself will be able to wade
through the crap and see that the DIR method is very good. Others will
say "fuck these assholes" and walk down the street the the friendly TDI
shop. Is that what you want?

NOTHING else matters. Because THAT is the reality. It doesn't matter
how right George is, he's going to lose some percentage due to his
style. But hey, it's a free country, and George can spread his message
in whatever manner he chooses. But for him to be surprised and unhappy
when not everybody follows him is kind of silly.

I will say that in the few years I've been reading here, George has
seemed to mellow a bit. For whatever that's worth.

Sincerely,
