George Irvine: The reputation of the WKPP in the industry is well established. Your professional record is beyond dispute. But like others, I find myself wondering why such ingenue behaviour is necessary when recounting unfortunate deaths within the community? Is it really necessary to scurry around like a little June Beetle that takes advantage of all the carnage around itself? Is such insolent chest-beating truly important in situations like this? Yes, many of us believe that your methods and techniques transcend those of the organizations you speak of, but must you take on such a self-righteous and sanctimonious attitude when presenting them? Wherever I go among technical circles and the name of George Irvine comes up, it is always with great respect in the accomplishments of the WKPP, but than it is quickly followed with an apology for your behaviour. Why must colleagues always make excuses for you in the industry? People are ashamed of the way you act and the childlike manner in which you present yourself and your views. Please, for the benefit of the industry and the hopes of furthering the techniques that will hopefully save more lives within in, try to be more professional and worthy of the reputation in which you are accorded. You will be taken much more seriously, and hopefully your message will be as well. Respectfully, Tod Gunther -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
