Well it looks like Gurr has tried yet again to royally screw someone and take all the credit for the work of others. Innes McCartney has spent the last 2 years researching the M class of experimental submarines built between the wars and was specifically working on the M1 - a large sub with a huge brass conning tower and a dreadnought type gun. He had finally managed to identify the location of the sub and was planning dives to visit. In passing he asked Gurr if we wanted to come along who said no as it wasn't his kind of thing. Through the grapevine, we hear that the BBC is planning something on this and is being led by "the great British wreck diver, Kevin Gurr". Gurr then tells the BBC not to get in touch with Innes as he is a dangerous lunatic and rambles on and on. Well, Innes and friends got to dive it as planned before Gurr and took about 25mins of digital footage. This is the first time it's been seen since 1926 and the admiralty is very interested. The BBC have been straightened out on the situation and dropped Gurr like a hot potato. The lesson here is to give this asshole as wide a berth as you can. If he thinks he can gain something by screwing you over, he will do so. Regards, John. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
