>Jim, it is not fair to paint all "Lymies" with the IANTD brush - this is >the mark of the Mouth himself through his bootboy, Kevin Gurr. Gurr is >one of the most horrendous influences in diving. Notice they claim to be >cave trained by Gurr - can anyone show me where Gurr is qualified to do >anything in a cave? I serously doubt it. How about it over there in the >UK, is this Gurr qualified to be a cave instructor , or is this more >blantent bullshit? Well, as we have no caves to talk off and pretty much all cave diving here is sump diving, I don't see how he manages to get in any cave diving. I've often seen training trips advertised where you get the wonderful oppertunity to train with Gurr in Florida and I think France but I've never seen any advertisements for or even heard of expeditions to do some real cave diving. Perhaps Tom can outline the requirements for IANTD cave instructor? I guess that unlike rebreather and mixed gas instructor, there are no requirements to actually do any cave diving on anything resembling a regular basis. Am I wrong here? >Notice also the IANTD influence where they say they "achieved" such and >such a "rating" ( read IANTD merritt badge). This is truly pathetic. It gives the impression of seeking credibility. Regards, John. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
