Hugo will have to adapt or he will be bypassed for others who evolve and try to make diving safer, even if that means to say 'No' to people who want to go to depths of 50-60 metres on air. Nowadays, if Hugo says 'No, I'm sorry but I will only go to 40 metres on air', he gets laughed at and people go to the next dive-centre. Thats the reality and its a bitter one. Adri, Hugo could put together a safe, efficient gear configuration for himself AND his customers to do those dives. But he doesn't. He could add helium to his mix (and to theirs, it isn't gonna kill them) so they don't get whacked out of their trees. But he doesn't. He could even dive mix while his customers dive deep air so he's clear headed enough to help them if they get screwed up. But he doesn't. No. Hugo dives like a stroke, bullshits, boasts about "I'm just doing daily fucking awesome deep and long exploratory dives", and justifies his multiple bad choices and questionable honesty in the name of commerce. We should remember his kind of diving is some of the easiest in the world. Warm water. Very bright and clear. Lots of walls and reefs. Lots of locations with little or no current. Dead easy. This is just the place for people like Hugo to help his customers into paying a little extra for something special - you know: "it's a leetle bit deep but its real cool and I can rent you the (bullshit) gear and trust me I do these 'fucking awesome' dives all the time and it's well worth the extra baksheesh." Tell me he isn't. rgrds billyw -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
