Doing excessive deco is therefore not adding safety." Every minute of time underwater is a risk. Being there unnecessarily increases the risk therefore. Also increasing stop times leaves you cold, tired and dehydrated; excess time on O2/nitrox is increasing the O2 exposure needlessly. Anywat, it is debatable how much effect increasing the shallow stop lengths will have. If bubbles are going to form they will have done so before 3m/10ft and you can stay there as long as they like, they will not go away. If you want to add safety my feeling is the best way is to start the deco sooner (i.e. deeper). Pyle stops are perhaps the easiest way to do it. > It has also been mentioned that Zplan adjusts all stop depths if you > change the last stop depth. It is already complete, I just need to look at how best to distribute it outside the UK. Will keep you posted.
