I think the solution to one of the problems was already stated, don't include the weight of the tool bag in your weight trim. I typically will drop my bag either at the anchor, outside or just inside a hole I want to work. As for streamlining, I'd like to hear how others solve this one. Only idea I have is having a small tool bag vs. the larger one I have. I need to work on that one.... I'm surprised too. I'm a caver and wreck diving for me is to use up leftover gas. The reason I ask is that I see a lot of divers with a whole range of tools in hideous configurations. I don't dive DIR but that doesn't mean to say that I don't keep my equipment streamlined and simplistic (awaiting the contradictions). It just makes me wonder what others do. I see a lot of divers replace weight belts with tool belts but that seems exceptionally risky. I've also seen divers keep long, thin tools (crowbars, chisels, wrenches, etc) bungeed against the tanks which also seems risky (how do you get it back in once you've used it?) Interesting to see that brass ferrets are not confined to Britain. Regards, Stuart. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
