The applications you point out below seem somewhat nonsensical, but
duct tape has several good uses in diving as well.  For example, when
travelling, I put a big duct tape "X" on all of my luggage so that no
one will mistake my bags for their own at the airport.  As well, I have
an extra bulb encased in a bit of bubble wrap, duct taped to the inside
of my light cannister.  For the cost conscious diver, quite functional
gaiters can also be made from duct tape, but then you will look like a
guy who is wearing gaiters made from duct tape...
