Mine is the same as Art's except I just took my backplate and webbing down
to a local canvas repair guy who also repairs parachutes and parasails.
He stitched the little piece of 1" webbing through the backplate and to
the 2" crotch strap with the same big ziz-zag lock stitch pattern using
heavy dacron thread that he uses on parachutes.  At the same time I
brought in a bunch of 10 ft lengths of 1" tubular webbing and had him sew
big loops in each end to use as 8' jon-lines.  Took about 15 minutes for
all the sewing and I think I paid him about $15 for everything.
