Hello, It is true that the OMS fitting looks a lot like a DIN fitting. However on closer examinations it appears to me that it is in fact the same, but different. On a DIN fitting the O-ring is on the end of a male thread fitting. This part is the same. The difference is in the other end. A tank din receptacle is a fixed piece of metal that has the O-ring contacts and threads all machined (or cast) out of a single piece of metal. On an OMS manifold the O-ring contact point and thread are not the same peice of metal. This allows for potenial play in the joint which could result in potential loss of O-ring contact. An O-ring requires very little compression to seal, so it does not require much play to cause problems. So those are my observations... My question is. Is this a real concern? So does this mean all the OMS manifold bashing I have seen previously was unfounded? Mat. --- Jim Cobb <cobber@ci*.co*> wrote: > Ah, contention amongst the ranks. A good thing to > see.
