From the Decom help file:

"Divers utilizing deep stops report a lessened degree of
fatigue."

I agree that deep-stops reduce all symptoms of DCS, not just
fatigue; however, in my conversations with divers who use
deep stops, I've found that most use them to reduce fatigue,
not to reduce other DCS symptoms. This seems to be because
fatigue is very common after diving, while more serious
DCS symptoms are rare. Also, most of the divers I've
spoken to use conservative deco schedules rather than deep-
stops to help avoid DCS. If they also use deep-stops, they
do so to reduce fatigue.

So, in this context, I stand behind my original statement.

From the Decom help file:

"The numbers are not in on any reduction of DCS
from this method. It will however NOT increase your rate
of DCS incidence."

If there is newer information available, please point us to
it. I'm very interested in reading it.
