Hi John, I have often said I'd like to do this, but don't have the time. Now my diving is getting little more serious, I may just do it. I personally didn't get much help from the list when I asked, those in the know prefer to keep the knowledge to themselves. I think you will need a good understanding of the math, though I believe it's not even degree level stuff. I wish someone would do this, and then give the source to the diving community for review/use. Then, we would have a diving program that everyone knew how it worked, it could be thoroughly tested, bugfixed etc instead of being yet another black box that, whilst appearing to work, could contain dangerous assumptions that you would not otherwise rely on. I am thinking along the lines of the GNU project, here.
