My words again... > Personally I don't think there is one right method. I think you need to rig to meet the needs of the dive." Are you suggesting that I need to prove the possibility of a better way? I need to provide research? I think the more perverse claim is that DIR is be all end all of diving methodology. That this single technique fits all diving conditions, and missions. Following your logic or lack there of, All I need to do is demonstrate ONE condition where DIR is not this right method to meet the needs of the dive. So, I submit that for prolonged diving, and doing HEAVY workloads in less than ideal conditions, Surface supplied diving is preferable to DIR. Your suggestion that need to have "Tried all the methods" before reaching this conclusion is absurd. I can say I have tried many different methods, and remain open minded enough to explore any method that I feel offers a potential advantage with out compromising safety. Please understand, I have no hatred for DIR. At this point it seems the most appropriate method to meet the needs of cave diving. It may very well meet the needs of several other missions. I just don't put any blind faith in it being the right method for every mission. > with each level of diving you transcend you must gain a certain amount of > acceptance. This is your justification for intolerance? That one level of diving need belittle another. I would hope that those on the forefront of diving would offer support and encouragement to the less experienced. I would hope that each specialty be open to discoveries and advancements in other specialties. > True and well said Thank you! >however the easy way to learn is from others who have been > there. That way the mistake you may have to make to learn wont cost you the > ultimate price! I could not agree more. But did you stop to ask your self why the tile of this thread is "Upside down tank mounting - What's your opinion." The people who participate on this thread represent some of the most experienced divers on the internet. In my very first post I mentioned that.. >I DO NOT currently dive with this rigging method, >but am considering it. I would like your input and suggestions. Perhaps this was an attempt by me to learn from the vast resources available to me. Food for thought. Craig W. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
