Let's see if I understand.  If at first glance something seems stupid it
should be swatted down with "extreme prejudice"


On my first impression of DIR, I might have considered it stupid.

What? in a confined environment, where entanglement is a concern, use an
extra long 7 foot hose and wrap it around your neck?  On first glance that
seems like a stupid idea.

But upon further scrutiny there is indeed sound logic behind it.  When a
properly trained diver uses this method, there are advantages.

But I guess by your standards It should be "swatted down" as well.

I'm not sure I agree with the "extreme prejudice", but I do think I will
take your advise though, and start a filter with your name on it.
