Personally I think that each diver needs to experiment with many different types of pots and pans of varying weights and sizes, under the supervision of an emt and with someone timing the event, so that the exact type of pan needed to knock that stro...err diver ..unconscious for the longest possible period of time while not interferring with higher brainwave functions is established.
