Jeff and I both own SA 6E Rix compressors so there is obviously some prejudice on our parts. I would, however, disagree with Jeff and recommend the Rix SA-3. This is a smaller version of the SA 6. The SA 6 has the following characteristics: Electric - 187/213 pounds, 6.5 SCFM Charging Rate, 5.5 SCFM FAD Gas - 150/155 pounds, same charging and FAD rates The SA3, on the other hand: Electric 124/130 pounds, 2.5/3.5 scfm charging rate, 2.2/3.0 scfm FAD Gas 108 pounds, 3.5 scfm, 3.0 fad So, if weight is a consideration, look at the SA3 - electric or gas. The rix is oil free and very easy to maintain. There is head wear and the third stage piston head is replaced at 150 hours of use (less if using hp cylinders) but easy to do.
