The SAA is an organisation of clubs who wanted to be part of a larger federation, but independant of the BS-AC. PADI could hardly represent British divers since the CMAS representative is (supposed to be) national to the country concerned. This is part of the reason given for expelling the BS-AC, who were training divers in Korea(?). Plus we never entered their underwater wrestling competitions. :) Personally I don't think that it's made much difference to me, however my (BS-AC)logbook has the CMAS equivalents for my qualifications. I doubt that it will affect newer BS-AC divers travelling abroad, just as SAA divers (to my knowledge) were not dicriminated against. Sadly most diving operations are more concerned about credit cards than c-cards. Paul Harris -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
