PADI, after some "adjustment", "compromise", "nod and wink", etc, you
get my drift, sort of filled the shoes of BS-AC whom CMAS "expelled".
BS-AC was a founder member and then encountered the wrath of the
octogenarians (a word I use advisedly) in the CMAS. I don't think that
BS-AC, of whom as I recall you are a member Wrolf, are unduly concerned.

Moreover I would hardly think that the CMAS "represents almost every
national agency, except for the major U.S. ones".

Hmmmm, you have triremes in San Diego waters? :-)

More importantly, if you were to study the history of the CMAS they did,
admittedly quite some time ago, do some extraordinarily good things
(amongst the usual stupid stuff of any of these high faluting bodies).
Nevertheless I think the CMAS, much like Tyrannosaurus Rex, has had its
day. Many years ago now it even moved its headquarters from France
(Confederation Mondiale des Activites Subaquatique:
Confederation-World-of-Activities-Underwater) to Rome, Italy. :-7

Didn't translate their title to Italian though, did they?!

Cheers,

Christian
