Subject: Re: Checkoff lists
Jim-
Us Key West folks have been using checklists for our diving for quite
some time...with a great deal of success. Macho issue? damn what other
people think! I"m the one that looks cool when we're anchored up to the
wreck, and someone else forgot something....

We use the phrase "Mental checklists aren't..." in most of our training
lessons.

Also, if the whole dive team has the same list (we're all rigged the
same, right?) it can serve dual purpose as a pre-dive briefing and
discussion guide. If you're interested in taking a look at what we/I
have developed, let me know. I've got a nicely formatted MS Word file to
edit/reprint whenever necessary.

Also, I've got a "Flight Crew Checklist" book...plastic slide covers
bound with rings or bungie...can be found at most aviation supply
places. mine is about 5x7, and holds checklists, tables, gas planning
sheets, etc....
