Barrie,

I am not worried about what some model *prefers*, as they are only
models. Of the two choices that you listed, I almost always use option 
two. I use EAN 50 at 36 ft to give me an EAD of 10 Ft. yet keep bubble
formation as low as possible. I also do not use an accelerated schedule 
but prefer to use the air schedule when using EAN 50. 
I look at option 1 as if everything is O.K. (not my day to be bent) then
bubble formation will probably not be a problem. If on the other hand
it is my day to be bent (tired, dehydrated, whatever), then option one
would probably produce bubbles that EAN 50 (or O2) will have difficulty
with (as the nitrogen comes out of solution) :-(, that option 2 would handle
better IMHO.
