Quis custodiet ipsos custodes, Like the title ,<smirk>. ------------------------------ >Hello techies >We have a group of wreck divers here in Brazil that is considering buying >bigger tanks. Our initial choices are either Genesis 120 cu ft @ 3500 psi or >OMS 120 cu ft @ 2640 psi. We'd like to receive feedback/personnal opinions on >either tank, as well as any other alternative. I dive southern california using an OMS 120. I like it! One chief advantage that I find with this cylinder is that I can get a full fill on a boat (Oh I love two hour dives) I have also found that the OMS 120 require 6 LBs LESS weight than if you were diving with a standard 72! These cylinders are pretty close to neutral, full or emtpy. The drawback is they are HEAVY when on deck (or especially on a beach dive). But the way I see it, the fewer number of times I have to break down and then re-assemble my gear, the more relaxed I feel (higher dive time to gear work ratio). Beware, these cyliders (either one) can easily get you into decompression if you are not prepared for it, and if you are, lots of air for your hang. A branch subject: I would still advise a pony tank for redundancy. One big cylinder is fine, but redundant equipment guidelines should not be forgotten, since it sounds like your headed for more technical diving and all of the overhead environment cautions. >Regards Steve Hogan Steve_Hogan@qm*.sp*.tr*.co*
